Franklin Earl "Barney" Gardner, age 71, passed away April 16, 2008 at his home on Aiken Rd. in Trumansburg.
Born June 4, 1936 in Burdett, NY, Barney was a son of the late Frank and Helen (Bush) Gardner. He was employed for many years by the City of Ithaca and retired from there as the Deputy Superintendent of Parks & Recreation. Farming and family were Barney's greatest pleasures. He took great pride in his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Barney is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce (Grimsey) Gardner; three sons, Steve (Pam), Matt (Darlene), Chris (Becky); a daughter, Diane; twelve grandchildren, Michael (Lisa), Trisha, Lisa (Shane), Chrissy, Jared (Jessie), Joey (Amanda), Jessica, Kyle, Barbie, Zack and Josh; six great grandchildren, Tyler, Allison, Faith, Cayden, Haley and Shayna; a sister-in-law, Ginny; and two brothers-in-law, John and George.
In addition to his parents, Barney was preceded in death by a son, Joel; a daughter, Debbie; a grandson, Timothy; a brother, Roland; and his sisters, Patricia and Kate.

Friends are invited to call at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg from 5-7pm on Monday, April 21. A memorial service at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Robert Clark, will follow at 7pm.
