Gary W. Dresser, Sr. of Newfield passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the age of 66.
Born on December 8, 1946 in Geneva, Gary was the son of the late Kenneth and Esther (Cooley) Dresser. Gary joined the United States Marine Corps in 1966 and served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1972. Gary’s entire career was spent in law enforcement beginning as a Baltimore City Police Officer, private investigator, Thoroughbred Racing Protective Bureau, TSA at Elmira airport, and finally serving as the Newfield Town Judge.
Gary is survived by his wife Jeanne Dresser, and his six children, Gary W. Dresser Jr., Kirsten Dresser, Todd Dresser, Richard (Tammy) Dumas Jr., Michael Cirulli, and Kimberley (Terry) Bailey; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; six siblings, Kenneth (Connie) Dresser Jr., Mark (Linda) Dresser, Susan (Roger) Austin, Cindy (Ross) Woodard, Carol Dresser, and Jeff (Lisa) Dresser; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, David Dresser.
The family will be present to receive friends from 10:00 to 12:00pm on Monday, May 13th, 2013 at the First Baptist Church, 4443 Seneca Road, Trumansburg. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 12:00pm at the church with Rev. Dennis Christiansen officiating. Prayers of Committal and Military Honors will follow in Sampson Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
