Genevieve Griffen Miller Blye of Ithaca passed away at home surrounded by family on Friday, April 30, 2021 at the age of 94.
Genevieve was born on the family farm in Trumansburg on April 15, 1927, a daughter of the late Walter and Maybelle (Chase) Griffen. She graduated from Trumansburg Central School and became a homemaker raising her children for a short time before entering the work force. Genevieve worked for the Tompkins County Assessment Department for many years and later the Town of Ithaca before retiring. She loved the outdoors, working in flower gardens, mowing the lawn, and caring for her parents until their passing.
She was a faithful servant of the Lord serving on several boards and committees at First Baptist Church in Trumansburg.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Maine of Ithaca; a son Gary (Susan) Miller of Phoenix, AZ; 5 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Genevieve was preceded in death by her first husband Victor Miller in 1984; second husband Judge Warren Blye of Ithaca in 1996; grandson, Rodney Maine Sr.; and a brother, Daniel Griffen.
The family wishes to thank Hospicare for the love and care they provided to their mother during her declining health.
