Genevieve P. Stewart

Genevieve Potter Stewart of Wayne passed away at Ira Davenport Hospital in Bath on January 3, 2018 at the age of 104.

Gen was born in Troupsburg, NY, a daughter of the late George and Anna Belle Potter. She and husband, Charles, co-owned and operated Holton’s Pharmacy in Trumansburg for many years. Additionally, Gen worked for the Chamber of Commerce for many years. Following her retirement, the Stewarts had a home on Maplewood Drive on Cayuga Lake. Gen was an avid gardener, kept her sense of humor, and remained spry and active until several days before her death.

Gen is survived by her step daughter, Edith “Edee” (Ken) Benedict; numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, special niece, Mary Stewart; nephews, Dan and Doug Stewart, Todd Stewart, and Ray Potter; and caring and very special neighbors, Pat and Joe Kelly. In addition to her parents, Gen was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Stewart; step daughter, Suzanne French; and her three brothers.

A Graveside Service will be will be announced in the Spring.
