Born January 26, 1916 in the Town of Hector, Gladys was a daughter of the late Nelson and Marguerite (Champion) Anthony. She worked for several years at Cornell University, however, her greatest joy came from caring for her family and her home.

She loved to cook and bake for family as well as indulge her family and friends with her craftwork.

Gladys shared many memorable camping trips over the years with family and friends. Whether it was tent camping with the kids in the early years or after graduating to RV camping, Gladys always looked forward to the next trip. Since 1969 she was a member of the "39ers" Camping Club and was a 15 year member of "The Top of the Hill Camping Club".

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Trumansburg, a 50 + year member of Chapter #479 Order of Eastern Star, and the T-Burg Senior Citizens. Gladys was a past member of Covert Home Bureau, Searsburg Grange and a past Mother Advisor in Rainbow Girls and Demolay.

In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, a grandson, Bryan, and her sister, Izaretta Elder.

She is survived by her sons, Frank E. Jr. (Susan) of Indianapolis, IN, and Philip T. (Sharon) of Centralia, MO; five grandchildren, Michael, Karen, Philip Jr., Teri Su and Sharlana; eleven great grandchildren, Ethan, Bryce, Shelby, Mark, Jason, Clint, Tony, Leanna, Taylor, Jordan and Cale; two great-great grandchildren, Carson and Mollie Brooke. Gladys is also survived by two sisters, Lelia (Earl) Beecher of Alpine and FL, and Ramona McCann (Bill) of Montezuma, NY, many special nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

Friends may call at Ness Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg, on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 10-11am. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Frank Adams, will be held at the funeral home at 11am followed by prayers of committal at Grove Cemetery, Trumansburg.
