H. Dean, Miriam

d. August 2, 2004

Miriam H. Dean, age 71, of Trumansburg, NY entered into eternal life on August 2, 2004. A beloved wife and mother, Miriam is survived by her husband Richard E. Dean of Trumansburg, daughter Alison Dean of Chicago, and daughter Traci Dean of Washington, D.C.

Miriam grew up in Alabama and Mississippi; she was the daughter of a minister and the third of four children. She attended Birmingham Southern where she received her Bachelors of Education degree. She then moved to Rochester, NY where she taught elementary school. Miriam moved to Massachusetts for a few years where she taught school and furthered her education.

She met her husband Richard in Rochester and married there. They raised two daughters and lived in Rochester until 1997 when they moved to the Dean family home in Trumansburg.

Miriam valued her friendships, and cultivated them with the same love and care that she tended her house and gardens. Miriam's gardens were her tapestry and will continue to flourish as will her memory in the hearts of her family and friends. Her kind and gentle nature was an inspiration, and her spirit will always be with us.
