ROGER H. LAUE went to be with God on July 21, 2005. Born November 25, 1954, in Ithaca, NY to Florence Laue and the late Harold A. Laue.
Roger was greatly devoted to and is survived by his loving wife Donna of 25 yrs, and their 2 children: George (Brenda) of Enfield and Duane (Elizabeth) of Enfield, NY; six grandchildren-Zachary; Austin, Brett, Alexander, Hailey and Emily; mother: Florence Laue (Enfield); Brothers: George Laue (Port Jefferson Station, NY), Dale Laue (Enfield, NY), Sisters: Joyce Laue (Brooktondale, NY) and Carol Baker (Ithaca, NY); and extended family members.
Roger attended the local Enfield Elementary, Boynton Junior High and graduated from the Ithaca High School. While in High School, Roger earned certification as an Eagle Scout and later was awarded certification in the Order of the Arrow-scouting's highest honor. Roger was an active Boy Scout leader for over 15 years. After high school, he successfully completed courses for law enforcement. Roger studied for and earned a rating of EMT 3.
Roger was an active participant in local government and organizations. He was a past member of the Enfield Fire Department. Roger was a past elected member on the Board of Trustees of the Enfield United Methodist Church, and was past elected to the Enfield Town Council. He was also active in setting up and maintaining Election Day voting machines.
Over the years Roger worked for Bangs Ambulance (Ithaca, NY), Johnny's Wholesale (Enfield, NY) and drove a milk truck.
Roger spent a lifetime working on the family farm in Enfield, NY. For the past 30 years, Roger was a caretaker for the five cemeteries in the Town of Enfield. For the past nine years he worked with the grounds construction crew at Cornell University.
Roger was a current member for over 25 years of the Enfield Valley Grange No. 295 and an active member of the Republican Party.
Roger will be greatly missed by all who associated with and knew him.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, July 24, 2005 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home 23 South St. Trumansburg..
Services will be held at the Enfield United Methodist Church on Monday, July 25, 2005 at 10am, with the Rev. Earl E. Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at the Christian Cemetery in Enfield, NY
