Harry D. Wellin Jr.

Harry D. Wellin Jr. of Trumansburg passed away after a long illness at Cayuga Medical Center on Monday, September 13, 2021 at the age of 82.

Harry was born on September 18, 1938, in Trumansburg to Harry D. Wellin Sr. and Leona (Armstrong) Wellin.  After graduating high school, he served in the Army from 1961-1964. Proud of his time in the service, Harry was stationed overseas in Northern Africa. During the service, while on leave, Harry met his future wife, Judy, and became a loving husband, father, grandfather and all-around family man. He spent over 35 years at Cornell University, eventually retiring as the Head Green House Manager. Harry was a member of the DeMolay and earned several honors. A lover of classic cars and a collector of model cars, Harry will be missed most at the Euchre table.

Harry is survived by his wife of 57 years Judy Wellin; three sons, Brian Wellin, Eric (Mari) Wellin and John (Denise) Wellin; five grandchildren, Richard (Alexandra) Wellin, Elizabeth (Ramon) Wellin, Rebecca Wellin, Adrianna Wellin and Alexander Wellin; one great-grandchild, Hadley Wellin; favorite cousins, Sandi (Dave) Neiss and David Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents.
