Ian "Dunk" Duncan, age 71, passed away on May 14, 2008 at his home on Lake St. in Trumansburg.
Born in Millbrook, NY, Dunk was a son of the late Walter and Doris (Dunning) Duncan. After retiring as Superintendent of Public Works for the Village of Trumansburg, Dunk enjoyed his "retirement job" at the Trumansburg Golf Course for many years. A loyal NASCAR fan, he had a passion for restoring old cars and could be found tinkering in the garage for hours at a time.
Dunk is survived by his wife, Mimi (Smith) Duncan of Trumansburg; his two daughters, Elizabeth and Bridgette Duncan of Trumansburg; four sons, Timothy (Bonnie) Duncan of Macedon, NY, Thomas (Desiree) Duncan of Valencia, CA, Todd (Michelle) Duncan of Elmhurst, IL and Scott Duncan of KY; grandchildren, Matthew, Dylan, Chelsea, Blake, Brandy, Bailee and Todd Jr. Dunk is also survived by his brother Jeff Duncan of Trumansburg; and two sisters, Heather Burke of WA and Ann Pell of MA.
A celebration of Dunk's life will be held at the Trumansburg Golf Course on Saturday, May 17, from 1-3pm.
