Barbara J. Bullivant, age 85, formerly of Interlaken, was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing, Montour Falls, following an extended illness. She was born at home in Trumansburg, a daughter to Nelson and Angie Stark Armstrong of Interlaken. In 1943 she married Robert Bullivant of Interlaken and during their marriage they resided in Trumansburg and Interlaken. Robert passed away on July 19, 1982.
Over the years Barbara had attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Trumansburg and the
Interlaken Reformed Church. She could often be found tending her massive vegetable garden enabling her family to have fresh and canned homegrown vegetables year-round. She enjoyed tending the flowers which not only adorned her home but also gave food to the many birds that Barbara studied. Crocheting provided her with "quiet time" and graced her home with beautiful afghans.
Barbara was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her children, Ronald (Doris) of Watkins Glen; Bonita (Harry) Miller; Robert Jr. (Robin); and Douglas (Kim) all of Interlaken; grandchildren Susan (Gabe) Bullivant; Laurie Miller; Daniel (Jaymee) Miller; Todd and Greg Bullivant; Anthony and Ashley Bullivant; great-granddaughter Kearstin Masson; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her son Thomas in July 2005; brothers and sisters Leona; Alice; Gerald; Winifred; Marjorie; Kathryn; Wilbur; Dale and Ralph.
The family will be present to receive friends at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg, on Monday, April 17, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 11:00am with the Rev. Derek Vande Slunt officiating. Prayers of Committal will follow at the Grove Cemetery, Trumansburg.
