Janet M. Stickane

Janet M. Stickane of 200 Conifer Dr., Ithaca, formerly of Interlaken, passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at the age of 91.

Born on April 16, 1921 in Interlaken, Janet was the daughter of Guernsey and Kathreen (Martin) Wiggins. During WW II she served in the U.S. Navy WAVES from February 10, 1944 until receiving an Honorable Discharge with the rank of SP 2nd Class on January 12, 1946. Following her discharge from the Navy, Janet worked at the Seneca Army Depot as a guard and a heavy equipment operator.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Edward and two sisters, Winifred Royce and Jean Tunison. She is survived by one sister, Arline Haviland of Interlaken and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In keeping with Janet’s wishes, no public services will be held.
