Trumansburg

Jerome Edward Przygocki, 75, of Trumansburg, New York passed away on Thursday, October 31st. Jerry was born September 2nd, 1949, in Wyandotte, Michigan to the late Edward and Cecelia Przygocki.

He is survived by his wife Regina; children Christian of Ithaca, New York and Jessica of Santa Monica, California; grandchildren Soren, Danilo, and Desmond; sister Louise Ann (Chris) McCaskell; nieces Tanya and Sara, and Lindsey and their families; nephews Justin and Nathan and their families; and brother-in-law Thomas Fields (Susan Walsh). Jerry is survived by his beloved pets dogs Lucy, Hugo, and Chloe; and cat L’il Bit.

He was predeceased by his brother William; his first wife Juanita; and his second wife Lynda. Juanita was his high school sweetheart and mother of his children. Lynda with whom he raised his children, passed in 1994, after nearly 20 years of happy marriage. He found love again with Regina and during their thirty-year relationship discovered a love of France, their shared love of literature and music, culinary delights, grandchildren, friends, and family. She was honored to take care of him especially in the last years of his life, in which he faced many complicated health issues.

Jerry was a hardworking craftsman and business owner. He served his community with distinction for decades, mentoring many new painting contractors during that time.

A modern-day Renaissance man, he had a vast knowledge of literature, fine arts, music, history, gardening, and culinary arts. He could build anything and constructed a classic English garden with a deck and pergola overlooking the pond. Jerry was a talented self-taught fine artist: a painter, sculptor and illustrator. He was athletically gifted in every sport he participated in from rowing to softball to golf and beyond. He had a near encyclopedic recall of music by ear, particularly of rock and roll and the music of his native Detroit.

Jerry’s social life was rich and extended to his family of loyal friends and their families in his community of Trumansburg which he adored. He loved celebrations, holidays, family parties, and hosted a legendary Gumbo Christmas party for decades at his home. His big personality and love will be missed by all.
