Joyce E.  Kimple

Joyce E. Kimple of Ithaca passed away at Hospicare on August 20, 2016 at the age of 81 after a courageous 12 year battle with cancer.

Joyce was born on August 28, 1934 in Ithaca, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Arlene (McRavey) Fitchpatrick.

Joyce enjoyed her life as a homemaker surrounded by her family. A real people-person and always the social butterfly, she was happiest when she was at family gatherings or with Friends. Joyce was also an animal lover with a nurturing spirit, rescuing many stray and hurt animals and giving them a loving home. She was a member of the Tompkins County Board of Elections working as an election volunteer for many years.

Joyce is survived by four children, Raymond (Linda) Mancil, Alan (Robin) Mancil, Michelle Gray, and Bryan Kimple; seven grandchildren, Ethan and Larissa Mancil, Sharey Selover, Joshua and Jeffrey Mancil, Rebecca Reeves, and Jacob Gray; a brother, David (Elaine) Fitchpatrick; a sister, Marlene (Fred) Haight; a step-sister, Carol Hunt; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Kimple; a step-sister, Kathy Bierce; and a step brother, Donald Patterson.

The family will be present to receive friends from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. Private Prayers of committal will be held for Family at Grove Cemetery.

The family would like to express its deepest appreciation to Dr. Garbo, his staff, and the staff of CMC for their many years of dedicated care and expertise.
