Joyce A. Gardner of Trumansburg passed away at home on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the age of 80.
Joyce was born on August 22, 1934 in Elmira, the daughter of the late Albert and Marjorie (Everhart) Grimsey. Joyce was an avid reader who enjoyed various types of novels. She always looked forward to the annual Bluegrass Festival in Lodi and traveling to Wheeling, WV. Joyce loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by three sons, Steve (Pam), Matt (Darlene), and Chris (Becky); a daughter, Diane; 11 grandchildren, Michael (Lisa), Trisha (Mark), Lisa (Shane), Chrissy (Luke), Jared (Jessie), Joey (Amanda), Jessica (Buzzie), Kyle (Rhea, Barbie (Ben), Zach, and Josh; 11 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kirstin, Ben, Allison, Faith, Cayden, Haley, Shayna, Leah, Logan, and one expected in several weeks; and a brother, Fred (Mary) Grimsey. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Gardner; son, Joel; daughter, Debbie; and a grandson, Timothy.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00pm on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 2:00pm at the funeral home.
