Jr. Reed, George H.

George H. Reed, Jr., age 68, of Whitney Point, NY, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2012, following an extended illness.

George was predeceased by his parents, George and Virginia Reed, and a sister, Conne Allen. George is survived by his children, Barbara Reed of Ithaca, Michelle Reed of Canandaigua, and Brian Reed of Bakersfield, CA; sisters, Patricia Whitmore of VA and Susan (Terry) Drake of NC; grandchildren, Jamie and Nicole Staple, Robert and Josh Porter, William and Kaitlin Smithson, Donovan and Bryant Pinette; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

George loved to fish, was a loyal NASCAR fan, and loved going to stock car races, where he liked to photograph cars built by local racing teams. The family would like to thank his friends in Whitney Point for their support and especially Patti Chaffee and her family, who were wonderful friends to George over the years. We would also like to thank the Staff at Wilson - North Towers 3 and 4, at Valley View Manor in Norwich, and at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for his acute care during the last couple of months.

At George's request, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
