June E. Bell

June E. Bell, age 84, of 16 Pease Street in Trumansburg, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Hospicare residence. She was born June 8, 1931 in Central Bridge, NY, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Enders) Zicha. June graduated from Schoharie Central School and attended Cornell University. In 1950, she was married to Franklyn H. Gallup, Sr. and raised 5 children in Sloansville, NY. After several years as a single parent, she married Douglas Bell in 1973. She retired from General Electric after 17 years of service, where she had been a highly awarded employee. She and Doug spent winters in Cape Canaveral, FL and summers at Saratoga Lake, NY or traveling the country visiting family and friends. Eventually, Florida became their year round home. After Doug’s death, she returned to Trumansburg, helping her son Gordie with Silver Queen Farm, each spring and summer season. She eventually made Juniper Manor II her year round home.

June is survived by her children; Franklyn Harry Gallup of Centralia, WA, John Charles Gallup of Fort Edward, NY, Gordon Gary Gallup of Trumansburg, NY, Ruth Marie (Fidler)Osborn of Galway, NY, William Jerry Gallup of Cheyenne, WY; step-son, Wayne Bell of Clifton Park, NY; a brother, Dennis I. Zicha of Grand Blanc, MI; her cousins, Charles Petteys of Largo, FL and Jean Flint of Goddard, KS; sisters in law, Madelyn Carl of Schoharie, NY and Evelyn Gallup of Schoharie, NY; 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren as well as many, many wonderful and beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of June’s life is planned for May 15, 2016 at Silver Queen Farm, 5286 Stillwell Road in Trumansburg. The family will receive friends that day, beginning at Noon.
