June Aldiene  Gill

June Aldiene Gill, of Trumansburg, formerly of North Tonawanda, passed away at Hospicare on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the age of 97.

Born in Dunkirk on June 12, 1916, June was the daughter of the late Harry and Bertha (Donovan) Schrader. A homemaker at heart, June spent countless hours crafting, perfecting needlework, growing numerous varieties of vegetables and flowers in gardens, and raising her three children. For many years, June coordinated family parties and holidays to be held at her home in North Tonawanda.

Throughout her years spent in North Tonawanda, June was an active member of the Home Bureau, Knight’s of Columbus Auxiliary, Senior Citizens and the Ladies of Charity. After moving to Trumansburg 9 years ago, June enjoyed spending time with new friends and was a member of the Trumansburg Senior Citizens and was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church.

June is survived by three children, Carol (Carl) Mann of Trumansburg, Thomas (Nancy) Gill Jr. of Fairview, TN, and Kathy (Dennis) Kalota of St. Louis, MO; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Gill in 1992; step mother, Velma Stebbins Schrader; and a brother, Harry Schrader.

Mass will be celebrated by Father John Tokaz, OFM Cap. at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at St. James Catholic Church, 17 Whig Street, Trumansburg.
