K. Dimick, Donald

Donald K. Dimick of 9759 Rt. 89, Trumansburg passed away unexpectedly in Asheville, North Carolina on Friday, October 29, 2004 at the age of 69.

Born on April 28, 1935 in Ithaca, Don was the son of James and Laura Kerr Dimick.

In his free time Don enjoyed tending the flowers that adorned the yard. He was best known for the roses which flourished from his nurturing hands. He was also considered an amateur Meteorologist with his weather-tracking diary of 50 years and position as a weather-spotter. Sports were of great interest to Don as was evidenced by his support at the local Trumansburg High School and Cornell University games. At home, Don was certain to be found glued to the TV whenever his beloved Yankees were playing.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brother William. He is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Marcia Drake Dimick of Trumansburg; one son, Dale D. Dimick of Webster; one daughter, Jessie Dimick of McLean and two cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg on Saturday, November 6, 2004 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Cora E. Booth officiating. Prayers of Committal will follow at the Grove Cemetery.

In keeping with Don's wishes, no public calling hours will be scheduled.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks those who wish to remember Don in the form of a memorial contribution to please consider a charity of their choice.
