Karen L.  Stewart

Karen L. Stewart of Trumansburg passed away at Strong Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the age of 60.

Karen was born in Montour Falls on August 14, 1957, a daughter of the late John and Letha (Wright) Dean. She graduated from Watkins Glen High School and worked various jobs throughout her life, most recently working as the secretary at NR Boyce’s in Ovid. Even during her sickness, Karen remained the rock in her family and loved spending time and caring for her family. She enjoyed camping and was an active member of the Midway Women’s Horseshoe League for 25 years. Her sense of humor and caring personality will be deeply missed.

Karen is survived by her daughters, Michelle Wright and Heather Stewart; five grandchildren, Brittany, Jared, Kenny, Arianna, and Brody; great grandson, Tristin; sister, Linda Dean; brother, Rick (Tina) Dean; and dear friend, Sue Hallock. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Letha Dean.

A Celebration of Karen’s Life will be held from 2:00 to 6:00pm on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Smith Park in Hector at the Upper Pavilion.
