Kenneth "Kenny" L. Washburn

Kenneth Leroy Washburn Sr., age 87, of Interlaken passed away December 9th, 2021.

Kenny was born in Waverly, NY on February 23, 1934 the son of the late Elmer Ray and Elizabeth (Sherman) Washburn.  He was involved in Waverly little league baseball, and small fry football teams. He worked for Palamkey Poultry Farm where he met Darlene. He then went on to work for Ithaca Gun, Therm Incorporated and finally retiring from H&E in 1992. Following his retirement Kenny spent many years enjoying his time spent with family. Often he would be found spending time with his grand and great grandchildren, playing poker with his son, grandkids and nephews or watching western movies at home.

Kenny in survived by his wife of 57 years, Darlene (Cornett) Washburn; his children, Robin (Gary Smith) Washburn and Kenney (Amber Spurrier) Washburn; his son/grandson, James Washburn; his siblings, Floyd Washburn and Agnes (Donald) Darling; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Kenny was predeceased by his son Brian Washburn and two brothers and three sisters.

A Celebration of Life with dish to pass with be held Saturday July 23, 2022 at 12:00pm at Stewart Park, 1 James L Gibbs Dr, Ithaca, NY 14850.
