Kurt Ziefle went to be with his Lord January 17, 2005. Kurt was born on January 12, 1927 in Heilbronn, West Germany. Kurt attended Heilbronn Middle School and received a degree from Stuttgart Photography School. After WWII Kurt immigrated to America to help his Aunt Emma on a small farm in July 1951 in Cherry Valley, New York with hopes of returning to Germany and pursuing the profession he loved so dearly, photography. While in America his long time sweetheart Ruth, also came to America and they were married in Cobleskill, NY on May 23, 1953. The Lord blessed them with two children Kurt and Heidi, leading them through the years from Cherry Valley; to Germany; to Little Falls, NY; to Wheaton, Illinois; and eventually they purchased a farm in Trumansburg, settled, and came to love the Finger Lakes Region and called it their home. Kurt is survived by his beloved wife Ruth, son Kurt and his wife Dorothea with children Priscilla and Isaac; daughter Heidi Switzer and husband Philip and their children Kristen, Daniel, Julie and husband Kyle Rose. Also Kurt's brother; Helmut and wife Christa Ziefle and family in Woodbury, Minnesota, and Reinhold Ziefle and family, in Heilbronn, Germany. Kurt's sister Ruth preceded him in death on December 24, 2000.
The family will be present to receive their friends at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg on Friday, January 21, 2005 from 7-9 pm.
Services will be held at the Finger Lakes Baptist Church, 1000 Yale Station Rd., Geneva on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 11:00 am with Rev. Barry Somerville and Rev. Terry Sutfin officiating.
