L. Eleanor Green

Eleanor Green of Trumansburg passed away peacefully at Cayuga Ridge on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at the age of 93.

Eleanor was born on November 16, 1922 in West Slaterville, a daughter of the late Delbert and Lucy (Calkins) Martin. During World War II, Eleanor worked at Remington in Elmira. Following her retirement from the County Home in 1986, Eleanor helped many people in the area with cleaning and errands. She was a member of the Trumansburg Senior Citizens and enjoyed gardening, swimming, bowling, boating, and spending time at her camp with family on Cayuga Lake.

Eleanor is survived by Roy (Barbara) Green Jr.; three grandchildren, Nathan Green, Stacie Garafolo, and Robert Howland; four great grandchildren, Hunter Howland, Nicholas and Olivia Garafolo, and Porter Green; and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Eleanor’s wishes, services will be private.
