Letha A. Dean, of 6055 Stilwell Road, Trumansburg, passed away at home on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at the age of 73.

Born in Bradford County, Pennsylvania on May 31, 1936, Letha was the daughter of the late Charles and Florence (Jackson) Wright. She was a 1954 graduate of Trumansburg High School and managed the Women's Horseshoe Scholarship Fund at Trumansburg High School for many years. She worked at Cornell University as a housekeeper prior to her retirement. Letha was a member of the Trumansburg Senior Citizens Club and played in the Midway Women's Horseshoe League for 25 years.

Letha is survived by a son, Rick (Tina) Dean of Burdett; two daughters, Karen (Steve) Stewart of Trumansburg, and Linda (Michael Campbell) Dean, of Andes; four grandchildren, Michelle, Heather, John, and Jason; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rose Mayo, Cora Aumick, and Elizabeth Williammee; four brothers, Roy Wright, Clarence Wright, Earl Wright, and Kenneth Wright; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John W. Dean, and two brothers, Robert Wright and James Wright.

The family will be present to receive their friends from 3-4 pm on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 4:00 pm on Thursday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Kotun officiating. Burial will be private at Hector-Union Cemetery.
