Linda L. Smith

Linda L. Smith of Trumansburg passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the age of 75.

Linda was born on August 3, 1940, a daughter of the late Fred and Betty (Tyler) Brown. She babysat many kids in the Trumansburg area before working as an x-ray technician at Cayuga Medical Center and Convenient Care. A dog lover, she adored her dogs and taught AKC obedience classes. She enjoyed traveling to the New England states, Alaska, and was a photographer taking photos of landscapes and weddings. Linda was an avid gardener and bird watcher, always telling people about her beloved gold finches which were lovingly referred to as her “golden jewels.” She knitted many items over the years for family and friends including mittens, hats, scarves, sweaters, and Barbie clothing. Most of all, Linda loved all nine of her grandchildren.

Linda is survived by four children, Jerry (Lauri) Smith, Cheri (Rob) Miller, Amy (Mike) Woodin, and Annette Smith; nine grandchildren, Dannielle, Ryan, and Jeremy Smith, Emily, Alanie, and Alicia Woodin, Nicole and Max Miller, and Lisa Delp; brother, Larry (Janet) Brown; nephews, Gary and Mark (Tina) Brown; father of her children, Roger Smith; and her best friends, “the girls.”

The family will be present to receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00am on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11:00am at the funeral home.
