Lottie V. Judd, longtime resident of Trumansburg, passed away peacefully at Seneca View Nursing on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the age of 99.
Lottie was born in Blakey, Pennsylvania on November 20, 1918, a daughter of the late Frank and Veronica (Safinowski) Szescila. She worked a variety of places, including the Home Dairy in Ithaca, before taking a job in the dining room at the Sampson location of the Willard Psychiatric Center. She later transferred to an aide position at the Willard location shortly before her retirement. Lottie was a devout Catholic who was active in many church activities as well as being a daily communicant at for St. James Church. She was a member of the Searsburg Grange, was active in the Trumansburg Food Pantry, and was a member of the Trumansburg Senior Citizens. Most of all, Lottie enjoyed spending time with her family.
Lottie is survived by a daughter, Maryann (Joe) Dendis; son, Carl (Geri) Judd; five grandchildren, Karl (Carrie) Dendis, Deb (Rich) Rasmussen, Kevin (Sandra) Judd, Chris (Erin) Judd, and Sarah ( Bryan) Stevenson; eight great grandchildren, Luke, Elizabeth, Ruth, Mia, Teyo, Phisher, Tyler, and Nell; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Judd; as well as her six brothers and her sister.
The family will be present to receive friends from 9:00 to 9:45am on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, August 21 at St. James Catholic Church, 17 Whig Street, Trumansburg. Prayers of committal will follow in Lake View Cemetery.
