Louis Carmine Iannone, age 77, of Trumansburg passed away at home on March 5, 2022.
He was born on February 22, 1945 in New York City, a son of the late Emil and Ester (Shaffman) Iannone. Lou honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1963 to 1967. He worked as a mason and brick layer before taking a job as an aviation technician for Grumman Aviation in Calverton. A lover of being outdoors, he was a hunter and fisherman and the beauty of Upstate New York is what drew him to move to the Trumansburg area. Lou enjoyed talking, riding his motorcycle, and in his later years completing puzzles.
Lou is survived by his wife of 54 years, Theresa Iannone; two children, Louis (Lee) Iannone and Dawn (Tari Springer) Iannone; two grandchildren, Melody and Ty Iannone; and a brother, Emil (Debbie) Iannone. In addition to his parents, Lou was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Frank Iannone.
The family will be present to receive friends from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Friday, March 11, 2022 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am at St. James Catholic Church, Whig Street, Trumansburg.
