Marc Hurlbut

On August 26, 2022, Marc Hurlbut passed away suddenly at the age of 57.

Born in Ithaca, Marc was a son of the late Hugh and Lois Hurlbut. Described by all who knew him well as a renaissance man, there was almost nothing Marc couldn’t have a passionate conversation about. Marc was an avid reader, had an intense love and knowledge of music, was a talented drummer, race car enthusiast, endurance cyclist, and excellent cook.

Ultimately, Marc was the friend you would approach for thoughtful advice, he was never judgmental, and was wickedly smart.  He was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and cousin, who could recall every childhood memory and story no matter how big or small. Marc would sacrifice everything for his children and was always bursting with pride at all of their accomplishments. He had a positive impact on the lives of so many people and will be truly missed.

Marc is survived by his wife of 25 years and best friend, Karen Hurlbut; children, Jordan, Lindsey, and Evan; siblings, Scott (Susan) Hurlbut, Marianne (Eric) Bastin, Darrel (Tammy) Hurlbut, and Greg (Melissa) Hurlbut; uncle David (Jacquie) Hurlbut; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held privately.
