Margaret Isobel Trimm of 9700 W. Townline Rd., Interlaken passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on Tuesday, October 02, 2012, at the age of 72.
Born in Scotland on August 18, 1940, Marge was the daughter of William and Isabella (Wilson) McLachlan. Her entire adult life centered around farming and family. While married to Rufus Burgess, the couple raised Black Angus and in later years Marge and her second husband Raymond Trimm Jr operated a dairy farm and cattle trucking business. During those busy years Marge had also worked as an operator at the telephone company, at NCR for several years, with Tompkins Community Hospital in the Medical Records department and finally as a fruit stand operator. In addition to caring for family, Marge had a soft place in her heart for all animals. She enjoyed fishing, gambling, playing computer games and cards, and was so dedicated to Bingo that she traveled all the way to Canada to play. Marge is remembered by family and friends as good-hearted and generous. She willingly gave of herself without asking for anything in return.
In addition to her parents, Marge was preceded in death by her husbands, Rufus and Raymond; one son, Hugh Trimm; and one sister, Ann Huck. She is survived by three sons, Earl Burgess, Mike (Bobbi) Burgess and Raymond (Linda) Trimm; two daughters, Helen (Robert) Ladieu and Linda (Danny) Hollenbeck; numerous grandchildren including Rufus Burgess, Morgan Wright, Raymond Trimm III, Nicole Trimm and Samantha Thuering; several great-grandchildren and a close friend, Pat Baker.
In keeping with Marge’s wishes, no public services have been scheduled.
