Marilyn  Cramer

Marilyn T. Cramer, of 4936 Rt. 228, Trumansburg, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the age of 78.

Born on August 31, 1934 in Montour Falls, Marilyn was the daughter of Lewis H. and Naomi (Groom) Clayson. Following graduation from the Odessa-Montour High School, Marilyn moved from the Croton-Millport area to Trumansburg where she fell in love with and married Alan W. Cramer. Marilyn always said that Al was her hobby and together they formed a loving circle that brought the entire family in. Their friends, who were treated like family, would often stop for a spirited game of Euchre or to just visit and listen to some of her favorite Big Band era music. During quiet times, one might find Marilyn working on a crossword or jigsaw puzzle or enjoying the many birds that frequented her yard. Marilyn assisted Al in the operation of his archery shop and the Country Gun Shop. She and Al enjoyed competing in archery tournaments, both claiming their share of trophies. Marilyn had a keen sense of community and willingly gave of her time and talents through memberships in the Eastern Star in her teen years and later with the Mecklenburg Volunteer Fireman’s Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge #426 in Montour Falls.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Al and one sister, Sue Kissell. She is survived by one son, Wyatt A. Cramer of Trumansburg; two daughters, Pamela Coyle (Bob Borra) and Stephanie Bentley (Tom Warren) all of Trumansburg; one brother, Charles Crouch (Shawn) of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Patricia Couch (Tom) of Wyalusing, PA and Julie Hanley (Donnie Coston) of Shortsville; one brother in law, James Kissell of Montour Falls; six grandchildren, Adam Coyle (DeeDee) and Joshua Coyle (Sarah), Brandon Bentley (Janelle), Jace and Cole Cramer and Ashley Cramer-Kranz; two great-grandchildren, Caydence and Pacey Coyle; many nieces and nephews, and many friends. Marilyn’s devotion to family and friends will warm the hearts of those who knew and loved her forever.

The family will be present to receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg. Immediately following the visitation on Friday, a Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 pm, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Cheryl Hine officiating.
