Marjorie P. Griffen

Marjorie P. Griffen of 6304 Willow Creek Rd., Ithaca passed away at her residence on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at the age of 68.

Born on October 23, 1938 in Ithaca, Marge was the daughter of Andrew and Edna (Bement) Palmer. No stranger to work, she assisted her husband, Daniel D. Griffen and their four sons with the operation of the family dairy farm. At various times over the years she worked outside the home including the positions of switchboard operator at Cayuga Medical Center and most recently as a corrections officer with the Tompkins County Jail.

In addition to her parents, Marge was preceded in death by one brother, George Palmer. She is survived by her husband, of 50 years, Dan of Ithaca; four sons, Dan (Karen), Darryl (Susan) and Doug (Beverly) all of Trumansburg and Dustin (Amy) of Mecklenburg; five grandchildren, Danielle, Corey, Kelly, Callie and Dallas; one uncle, Donald (Helen) Bement of Ovid; one sister-in-law, Janice Palmer of Lansing and two nieces, Jessica Palmer of Lansing and Angela Hudson of Cortland.

In keeping with Marge's wishes, no services have been scheduled.
