Mark Holden Hall of Trumansburg passed away at Cayuga Medical Center unexpectedly on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the age of 60.
Born in Ithaca on November 14, 1957, Mark was the son of the late Robert H. and Ellen (Frazer)
Hall. Following his graduation from Charles O. Dickerson school in Trumansburg, Mark joined the United States Air Force, honorably serving his country from 1975 to 1979. Mark attended Johnson and Wales culinary school, settled in Boston and worked there as a chef in several notable restaurants, including The Blue Room. He married the love of his life, Pamela Minzloff in September of 1988. Together with their son Zachary, they moved to Madison, Wisconsin in 2000, where Mark realized his great dream of opening his own restaurant, The Cottage, a French-American bistro. He moved back to the Trumansburg area in 2010.
Mark is survived by his son, Zachary F. Hall of Ithaca; three sisters, Nancy Hall of Trumansburg, Kathryn Eldred of Interlaken, Susan (David) Pakkala of Trumansburg and several nieces and nephews and many friends. In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela A. Minzloff.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 o’clock on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the Cayuga Nature Center, Ithaca, NY.
