Mary Gleason

Mary Gleason of Trumansburg passed away at home on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the age of 97.

Mary was born in Ithaca on August 6, 1920, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Suska) Lotito. She was a homemaker raising her four children while working alongside her husband, Omar on their farm, and cleaned houses throughout the Trumansburg/Ithaca area. Mary enjoyed knitting, embroidery, and bird watching. Most of all, she adored daily visits from her “kids” (great grandchildren Kayden, Kayleigh, Kady Rae and Keagan).

Mary is survived by four children, Kathy L. Smith, Benjamin E. Gleason, Howard A. Gleason, and Peggy (Frank) Winkleblack; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; good friends, Anne Woodring and Betsy Robinson; friends and caregivers, Lisa Beauchamp and Diane Taber; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Omar L. Gleason in 2003; son in law, Dana Smith; and siblings, John Lotito, Angie Lotito, Tony Lotito, and Lena Gray.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Hector Union Cemetery.
