Mary K. Ryan

Mary Kathleen Ryan of Trumansburg passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on Monday, February 11, 2019 at the age of 79.

Mary was born in Berkshire, a daughter of the late Herman and Magdeline (Klossner) Moesch. She worked for 26 years at TST BOCES Smith School in a variety of positions including cafeteria staff and as an aide. Mary was an extremely active member of the Trumansburg community as a member of multiple groups including Harmony Falls Chorus, Ulysses Christmas Bureau, Trumansburg Senior Citizens, the Gemm Shop, and she received the Silver Beaver Award for her volunteering efforts with the Cub Scouts. She was also very active at both Christ Lutheran Church in Interlaken and Trinity Lutheran Church in Ithaca. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and found joy in her faith, singing, her family and dear friends. Her compassion and unconditional love for her family and friends will be deeply missed.

Mary is survived by her husband of 58 years Dennis Ryan; four sons, Jeff (Barbara) Ryan, Mark (Laura) Ryan, Tim (Debbie) Ryan, and Phil (Anni) Ryan; seven grandchildren, David, Elizabeth, Jacob, Amber, Lexi, Brooke, and Brady; three siblings, David Moesch, Carol Cumbo, and Mary Jordan; her traveling buddies, Teresa Palmer, Marlene Reitz, and Charlene Waite; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a daughter in law, Marla Ryan; granddaughter, Emily Ryan; brother, Herman Leroy Moesch; and an infant brother.

The family will be present to receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00pm on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. A Memorial Service will immediately follow, at 3:00pm, at the funeral home.
