Mary Ann Hauff, formerly of Floral Park, passed away at Seneca View Nursing and Rehab on Friday, May 24, 2024 at the age of 69.
Mary Ann was born in New York, New York on June 11, 1954, a daughter of the late Burton J. and Helen (Porzelt) Cavallo Sr. She attended and graduated from Catholic grammar and high school and attended Queens College where she earned her Associates degree in Nursing. Mary Ann continued her education at Adelphi earning her Bachelors and Masters in Nursing. She worked as a nurse practitioner, serving as head of infectious control at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital and Lawrence Hospital where she would retire from.
Mary Ann was an avid quilter, decorator and landscaper, skilled boater and fisherman, and begrudgingly became a skier at the request of her late husband. In recent years her greatest joy came from her three grandchildren.
Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Annie (Schuyler) Madison; three grandchildren, Cecilia, Maeve, and Liam Madison; brother, Burton (Alice Dunne) Cavallo Jr.; sister, Maureen (George) Gorton; and nephews and niece, Christopher (Natalie) Cavallo, David (Amy) Cavallo, Laura (Richard) Guilfoyle, and Sean Gorton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Hauff in 2003.
A Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 12:00pm at St. James Catholic Church, 17 Whig Street, Trumansburg.
