Matthew R. Fellows

Matthew R. Fellows of Trumansburg passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at the age of 49.

Matt was born in Ithaca on October 1, 1973, a son to Bruce and Cora (Bower) Fellows. He began his 27 year career at Wegmans starting as a cart handler, working into a maintenance position and over the years made many friends there. Matt had a great sense of humor and will always be remembered for his ability to pick out the perfect funny birthday card year after year. He was always working to improve himself and be the best version of himself, was kind hearted, and respectful. Matt cared for his family, enjoyed NASCAR, loved animals, music (especially Elton John), doing yard work and watering, and hiking.

Matt is survived by his mother, Cora Fellows; siblings, Kevin (Kim) Fellows, Dawn (Gary) Schmidt, and Lisa (Bill) Simpson; nieces and nephews, Kyle (Morgan) Fellows, Colin (Ali) Fellows, Johnathan (Holly) Duddleston, Amelia (Sam) Cox, and Eric, Grant, and Milton Simpson; and great niece and great nephew, Baylor and Colton. He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce in 2017.

The family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm Friday, September 22, 2023 at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. Burial will be private for family.
