Maudie M. Post of Trumansburg passed away at Cayuga Ridge on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the age of 87.

Born on February 3, 1929 in Newfield, Maudie was the daughter of the late Harry and Alma (Leonard) Hendrix. After graduating from Trumansburg High School, she married Kenneth L. Post and the two became the proud parents of three sons. Outside of the home, Maudie worked for many years as a baker for the Trumansburg Central School District Cafeteria and worked in the office at Spruce Row Campgrounds. An active member of the community, she belonged to the Trumansburg United Methodist Church, 39er’s Camping Club, volunteered at the Trumansburg Food Pantry, and after moving to Cayuga Ridge was the President of the Residence Council.

Maudie was a wonderful friend to many people and always had a welcoming and loving heart. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, and was the best cook.

Maudie is survived by her sons, Kenneth and Larry, both of Trumansburg; three grandchildren, Jeffery (Jennifer) Post, Jake Post, and Natalie Post; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L. Post in 1980; son, John C. Post in 1984; granddaughter Jennifer Post; and siblings, Ruth Boyer, Gordon Hendrix, Donald Hendrix, Charles Hendrix, Gerald Hendrix, and Harria Daily.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Trumansburg United Methodist Church, followed by a reception. Prayers of Committal at Grove Cemetery in Trumansburg will follow.
