Michele E. Wikoff, age 46, passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on Friday, February 12, 2016, following a month long hospitalization.
Michele was the youngest of ten children born to James and Ruth (Hewes) Spicer. She was a 1987 graduate of Trumansburg High School. She was married to Joe Wikoff on March 26, 1988 and they embarked on an 8 year journey, following his Navy career throughout the US. In 1996, they returned to Trumansburg with their young family. Michele worked at the ShurSave in Trumansburg, Hope’s Way and Ithaca Bakery, enjoying her years serving her community. Most recently, she worked with her dear friends at Haute House Salon as their receptionist. Michele was the organizer of her family, keeping everyone in check and making sure that their needs were met, schedules kept and always surrounded by love.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of nearly 28 years, Joe; her children, Katharine (Chris) Davis of Punta Gorda, FL, Elizabeth (Zach) Kilcher of Fargo, ND and Alexander Wikoff, also of Fargo, ND; her grandchildren, Lily Davis and Isaac Kilcher; her father, James Spicer of Dryden and her siblings, Douglas (Bonnie Hornbrook) Spicer, Bruce (Dee) Spicer, James (Mary) Spicer, Linda (Dan) Hust, Debra (Jim) Thompson, Susan Spicer, Constance (Del) Runyon, Christine (Tom) Manheim, Scott (Cheryl) Spicer and many nieces and nephews. Michele was preceded in death by her son, Joshua in 1990 and mother, Ruth Spicer in 2014.
A celebration of Michele’s life will be held in the Summer of 2016. At this time, kindly consider a donation to Challenge Workforce Solutions or Tompkins County SPCA, in her memory.
