Myrtle E. Lee

Myrtle E. Lee of Burdett, formerly of Trumansburg went to be with Lord on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Schuyler Nursing Facility surrounded by family at the age of 98.

Myrtle was born in Troy, Pennsylvania on July 9, 1917, a daughter of the late Halsey and Sylvia (Johns) Wheeler. A homemaker her entire life, Myrtle was a kind, loving lady who became a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends by writing letters over the years. Myrtle was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Trumansburg for many years.

Myrtle is survived by two daughters, Linda Nagle and Sylvia Palmer; seven grandchildren, Susan, Amy, Jeff, John, Dan, Jim, and Donnie; four great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Lee in 1997; and two brothers, Earl and Louis Wheeler.

The family will be present to receive friends from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 12:00pm, at the funeral home. Prayers of committal will be held in Glenwood Cemetery in Troy, Pennsylvania.
