Nancy Swank

Nancy A. Swank, age 78, of Trumansburg passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 13, 2017.

A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks those that would like to make a contribution in Nancy’s memory to kindly consider First Baptist Church of Trumansburg, Attn: Hospitality Fund, PO Box 686, Trumansburg, NY 14886.

Nancy was born on March 22, 1939 in Long Island, a daughter of the late Iveta and Otto Oktavec. She graduated from Ithaca High School and attended Nursing School at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Albany. Nancy went to work at Wilson Hospital in Endicott but gave up her nursing career to raise a family with her husband, Lawrence. She enjoyed her family and her pastime of reading. Nancy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Trumansburg.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Lawrence “John” Swank; children, Michael Swank, Barbara Swank, and Heather Nickles; stepsons, Larry (Claudia) Collins and Sebastian Swank; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a sister, Jane Octavia Lee.
