Norma C. (Taylor) Stevenson

Norma C. Stevenson of Ithaca passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at the age of 99.

Norma was born in Renton, Pennsylvania on March 14, 1924, the oldest child of John J. and Alice T. (Fedon) Taylor. She grew up in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, and following graduation from high school she became an office manager at Morse Chain in Pittsburgh, where she would meet her future husband, Richard. The two settled in Ithaca where they would raise their family and live for over 65 years.

Norma was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ithaca, the Order of the Eastern Stars, and Groton and Lansing Senior groups. She enjoyed golfing and bowling and in her later years enjoyed playing bridge and travelling, especially taking trips to Europe.

Norma is survived by two children, Greg (Sherry) Stevenson and Karen (David) DeOlden; grandson, Vaughn Stevenson-Edgar; and a large extended family from the Pittsburgh, PA area. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Stevenson in March of 2023; brothers, Nicholas, John and Charles Taylor; and brother and sister-in-law Ray and Marge Stevenson.  Norma was also close to and predeceased by Aunts Eleanor Hornbake, Florence Fontana, Esther Bonacci, Thelma Volpe and Uncle Guido Fedon and their families.

The family will be present to receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00pm on Wednesday, at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, September 21, at the funeral home.
