Paulena Mae Usher

Paulena Mae Usher of Trumansburg passed away at home surrounded by family on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the age of 94.

Paulena was born in Ithaca, NY on January 19, 1924, the daughter of the late Peter and Lena (Terryberry) McCombs. She was always an active member of the Searsburg community, serving as a 4-H leader for 25 years, lifelong member of the Searsburg Church, and member of the Searsburg Grange. Paulena had exhibits at the New York State Fair several times and enjoyed being a part of the annual displays at the Trumansburg and Dundee Fairs. Her and her husband, Robert were members of the 49er❜s club for many years where they made lifelong friends and memories on their camping trips. She was incredible with her hands making many sewn and upholstered pieces. Above all, Paulena loved her family and cherished time spent with them. ‶All things are possible with God.″

Paulena is survived by three sons, Gene (Arlene) of South Carolina, Douglas (Lora) of Arizona, and David (Stephany) of Trumansburg; one daughter, Arleeta Karz of Trumansburg; five grandchildren, Kevin (Kay), Brian (Terri), Michael, Kristina (Scott), and Andrea (Chad); 15 great-grandchildren, Phillip, Brandon, Stephany, Micia, Brittany, Micah (David), Elissa (Johnny), Jacob, Calib, Abbie, Cody, Alana, Ashley (Chris), Tommy, and Emily; three great great grandchildren, Jamison, Maria, and Alena; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Paulena was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Usher in 2010; brother Robert McCombs; grandson, Robert Turner in 2013; and son in law, John Karz 2015.

The family will be present to receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Searsburg Church. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, at the church. Prayers of Committal will follow at the Cronk Cemetery in Trumansburg.
