Phillip D. Ingrahm

July 24, 1949 — December 12, 2022

Ithaca/Dryden

Phillip Dean Ingrahm, age 73, of Ithaca/Dryden, NY passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on Monday, December 12, 2022.

A lifetime area resident, he was born on July 24, 1949 in Cortland, NY the son of the late Clark and Marjorie (nee Johnson) Ingrahm.

Phil grew up in Richford and graduated from Dryden High School where he was scouted for his pitching by the NY Yankees.  His love of stock car racing and his high school sweetheart, Carlene Cortright, kept him firmly planted in Dryden.  He followed his father into construction, heavy equipment operation and excavating.

He will be remembered for his uncanny ability to fix anything, constantly being right, his love of nature, horses and a fondness for cats, knowing the words to every Johnny Cash song, antique tractor pulls, always cleaning his windshield the night before hunting season, and a rare mix of sentiment and grit only he could pull off.

Phillip is survived by his son Michael, his daughter Kathy (Douglas) Barton, granddaughter Olivia Barton, nephews, cousins and friends who love him and will miss him dearly.

A Celebration of his life will be held on his birthday, July 24, 2023, at 3:00 pm at the Wixom’s pond. In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation in Phil’s memory to the Etna Fire Department, PO Box 300, Etna NY 13062.
