Ralph W. Van Heusen of Geneva passed away at his lake side home on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the age of 66.

Ralph was born in Brooklyn, a son of the late Ralph and Audrey (Simson) Van Heusen. After graduating high school, he joined the United State Army as an active duty soldier serving for three years. Ralph would continue to serve his country for the next 17 years in the United State Army Reserves.

He worked for 37 years at various Verizon locations on the East Coast, beginning his career as a central office technician and retiring as a power technician. In 2006, Ralph moved to his dream home on Seneca Lake. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Trumansburg, the Seneca Lake Trout Derby Committee, and Geneva Lodge #965, Free and Accepted Masons serving as the Senior Warden of the Lodge as well as serving on various committees. He also served as 1st Lt. Commander of the Masonic War Veteran’s Daniel Bissell Post #65.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 39 years Elisabeth Van Heusen; three children, Adam and Debbie Van Heusen, Kyle Dawson, and Erin Van Heusen and Barry Holsten; three grandchildren, Joshua and Emese Van Heusen and Eva Holsten; two brothers, Bill and Jim Van Heusen; an aunt, Joan Van Heusen; and four cousins, John, Chuck, and Steve Van Heusen, and Margaret Woodard. In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by an uncle, George Van Heusen.

A Memorial Service with a Masonic Service and Military Honors will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at First Baptist Church, 4443 East Seneca Road, Trumansburg with Rev. Dennis Christiansen officiating. A reception for family and friends will immediately follow.
