Randy Steven Hardy, born Kurt Norman Steinbaugh, of Trumansburg passed away at home surrounded by family on February 4, 2024 at the age of 70.
Randy was born in Canandaigua on January 31, 1954. Randy’s deep respect for nature was evident in wild crafting beautiful walking staffs, grapevine wreaths, and meaningful momentos he gifted to his family. His children and grandchildren said everything they learned about nature they learned from him. They were inspired by his teachings and storytelling. They carry on that legacy. He was lovingly called Papa Crow and known as the Blue Jay whisperer. His wish for world peace is never ending. “ Love , pass it on “....
Randy is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Shirley Spencer-Hardy; children, Pamela Marie Hardy-Crossno and Melanie Faith Hardy; nine grandchildren, Brian James Williams, James Paul Robert (Ashley Kain) Crossno, Steven Thunderburk (Tracey Dehaven) Crossno, Cheyenne Marie (Scott) Steen, Sierra Justice (Chris) Shoemaker, Aliyah Elizabeth Hardy, Ariana Faith (Gavin Redmond) Hardy, Andre Isiah James Hardy, and Zaedyn Orion Hardy-Reese; ten great grandchildren, Tianna Grace Crossno, Violet Alice Williams, Hannah Marrie Crippen, Nolan Michael James Crossno, Lily Anne Williams, Claire Isabelle Marie Crossno, Kinley Mackenzie Crossno, Arrow Myer Steen, Oakley Marie Steen, Forrest Thunderburk Crossno; and siblings, Dee Lauffer and Neil Steinbaugh. He was preceded in death by his beloved son Brian James Hardy, parents, Brent Hardy and Norma June Hardy and grandmother, Ida Mae Losey.
A Celebration of Randy’s Life will be held in the Summer of 2024.
