Rhonda K. Connors

d. June 15, 2015

Rhonda K. Connors of Enfield went home to be with Jesus on Monday, June 15, 2015.

Rhonda was born in Ithaca on January 27, 1954, a daughter to Calvin and Martha (Lummuka) Criss. The summer after graduating high school, Rhonda married the love of her life, William “Brad” Connors. Rhonda worked in the cafeteria at the Enfield Elementary School for many years, working up to earn the position as food service manager. She enjoyed making family and friends feel special, always celebrating birthdays and special occasions by planning wonderful gatherings. Christmas was always a special holiday and family and friends will miss her phone call every winter when the first snow fell. Rhonda had large vegetable and flower gardens that she tended regularly. The beach and ocean were special places to Rhonda, and she had hoped one day to retire and live on the beach. She adored her children and grandchildren and supported them in every way possible.

Above all Rhonda had a deep faith in Jesus Christ and loved ministering and her beloved church, Living Waters Christian Fellowship in Enfield.

Rhonda’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Timothy Cardina for the care he provided over the past 30 years. His compassion and dedication to her treatment were truly extraordinary.

Rhonda is survived by her husband of 42 years, William “Brad” Connors; two daughters, Brandee (Kevin) Berggren and Barbara (Thomas) Dunham; nine grandchildren, Kyiah, Autumn, Matthew, Dacia, Cody, Kacey, Kaleb, Natalie, and Ryland; father, Calvin Criss; siblings, Timothy Criss and Carolyn Hranek; mother in law, Ruth Connors; sister in law, Audrey Morgan; faithful friend of 48 years, Debbie Grover; special cousins, Karen Snyder and Mary Smith; and large extended family. Rhonda was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Criss; and daughter, Jessica Connors-Steel in 2011.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at the Living Water Christian Fellowship, 162 Enfield Main Road, Ithaca. Prayers of committal will follow at Enfield Christian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks those that would like to make a contribution in Rhonda’s memory to kindly consider the Creutzfeldt- Jakob Foundation, 341 W. 38th Street, Suite 501, New York, NY 10018 or Living Waters Christian Fellowship, 162 Enfield Main Road, Ithaca, NY 14850.
