Richard G. Bosman

d. July 26, 2014

Richard G. Bosman of Trumansburg passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the age of 64.

Richard was born on November 23, 1949, the son of the late George and Lillian (Kaminski) Bosman. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After returning home, Richard graduated from the Cornell University ILR School. Richard operated Fingerlakes Satellite out of Trumansburg for many years before his retirement.

Baseball held a special place in Richard’s heart. He was an avid Yankees fan and coached several baseball teams in the Enfield and Ithaca area including Babe Ruth, Kiwanis, and the Captain Joe’s Team at Cass Park. He cherished times spent playing baseball with his son. Richard enjoyed spending time with local musicians and artists sharing their company to expand his creativity. He wrote several songs that were performed locally and his writing skills were used to write speeches for local Republican Party officials. Theses outlets allowed Richard to share his love of language and words with many people. He had a vast knowledge of many topics and could always give an answer to any question.

Richard is survived by his wife of 44 years, Elizabeth Bosman; two children, Richelle and Richard Bosman; two grandchildren, Mia and Joshua Bosman; an aunt, Doris Lahiff; cousins, Sharon and Jeffrey Clemente, and Charlotte Schuyler; nieces, Dawn Marie (Joe) Crowder and Lisa Harris; and great nieces and nephews, Shawn, Conner, and Matthew Crowder, and Allison and Kelsey Harris. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Forster.

Services are pending at this time.

The family asks those who would like to make a contribution in Richard’s memory to kindly consider the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220.
