Harry Robert "Bobby" Brown of 694 Ridge Rd., Lansing passed away at his residence following a brief battle with esophageal cancer on Friday, June 20, 2003 at the age of 42.
Born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on January 23, 1961 Bobby was the son of the late Nelson Brown and Delores Douthit Brown of Ohio.
Bobby received a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Elmira College in 1992. He enjoyed cooking both at home and professionally as an experienced chef in Riverhead, New York. Reading and fishing were some of his favorite past times but Bobby always made time to extend a hand to help others. He was committed to a spiritual life which helped him through the many trials he faced over the years. As a recovering alcoholic, Bobby often called upon his wonderful sense of humor to lighten the difficult moments.
In addition to his mother, Bobby is survived by his beloved partner of 12 years, Cathy Kinder (and family) of Lansing; 2 sons, Tim and Eric of Long Island; 6 sisters, Joyce (John) Hughley, Betty (James) Jefferson, Dee Matthews, Margaret (Glen) Walker, Helen Brown and Cheryl Brockman (Butch Faulkner); 2 brothers, Nelson Brown and James (Jennifer) Brown and many nieces, nephews and friends. Bobby was a loving partner, father, brother, son and friend and he will be greatly missed by each life he touched.
The family will be present to receive their friends at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg on Thursday, June 26, 2003 from noon to 1:00 pm.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Sonya Hicks officiating.
