Robert J. Jankowski, age 72, died on Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Hospicare residence on East King Road in Ithaca.

Born January 25, 1941, in Blossburg, PA, a son of the late Peter and Louise M. (Wojcik). Bob graduated as valedictorian of his class at Spencer-VanEtten high school and earned a full scholarship to RIT. He proudly served in the USArmy Reserves. He was a senior operations analyst at Xerox in Rochester, and during his years in North Carolina, Bob worked in the NASCAR Industry and at Panthers Staduim. His best times were spent with his family, and he truly enjoyed talking to the people that he met along his journeys. Bob was an avid NASCAR and Yankees fan, and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ithaca.

Bob is survived by his children, Robert (Kara) Jankowski, Michael (Natasha Hale) Jankowski, Katherine (Ian) Marsh, Timothy (Lori) Jankowski and Chad Westmiller; a brother, Peter Jankowski II, and sisters, Patricia Luoma, Mary Riker and Teresa McDaniels; his grandchildren, Connor, Aden, Matthew, Breanna, Michael, Dustin, Taylor, Dominic, Melena, Dakota, Zachary and Victor; and great grandchildren, Shayona, Marlee, Eli, Shelby, Izak and Martin.

A Celebration of Bob's life will be held at 6:30pm on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at the Church of Christ of Latter-day Saints, 114 Burleigh Drive in Ithaca. Friends and family are asked to dress in bright colors to commemorate Bob's bright outlook on life. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Bob's memory to Hospicare of Tompkins County, 172 East King Road, Ithaca, NY. 14850 or attend the Hospicare Give Back Event at Chili's, 608 S. Meadow Street, from 3:00 to 11:00pm on September 10th.
