Robert W. Andrew

d. April 2, 2016

Robert W. “Billy-Bob” Andrew, a.k.a, “Pappa”, age 72, lifetime resident of the Trumansburg area, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, April 2, 2016

Bill was born on September 18, 1943 in Ithaca, the only son of Robert G. and Frances (Tyler) Andrew. After graduating Trumansburg High School, he worked many jobs until he found his passion driving trucks, when he started working for Seymour Disposal (Superior Disposal), eventually retiring from Casella Waste Management after many years of dedicated service. In his retirement, he drove taxi in Ithaca, when he wasn’t on a road trip or having coffee with his buddy Don Smith. He had a friendly approach to everyday life, and lived every day thinking about others.

He is survived by his sons: Robert (Jody) Andrew of Trumansburg, Anthony Andrew of Great Falls, Montana, and Nicholas (Jamie) Andrew of Seneca Falls, NY and their mother, Evelyn Andrew of Seneca Falls; his grandchildren, Christina Mente, Holly, Erika and Robert Andrew III, and great grandchildren, Dominic Protts, Brylee and Lillee Bronson; his sister, Joanne Stevens and her daughter, Kim (David) Lottinville of Gainesville, FL; his longtime friend, Joyce VandeBogart of Ithaca, her daughter, Samantha (Gene) Aarnio and their son, Liam, of Spencer, and his best friend, Don (Nancy) Smith.

The family will receive friends at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street in Trumansburg from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 10, 2016, an opportunity for his family and friends to share stories and remember Bill’s selfless personality and huge heart. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in his memory to Ithaca Dialysis Center, 201 Dates Dr., Suite 206, Ithaca, NY 14850.
