Ronald Frank "Butch" Aumick, formerly of Interlaken, passed away peacefully after a long battle with COPD, at his home in High Point, North Carolina, on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the age of 70.

Born in Lake Carey, Pennsylvania on June 7, 1939, Ronald was the son of the late Frank and Ella May Aumick. He attended Ithaca High School and following graduation he served his country in the US Army. Ronald worked as a painter for many years and was a member of the Painters Union Local #178 in Ithaca until his retirement in January of 1997.

Ronald spent his leisure time in the outdoors going camping, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed bowling and horseshoes. Ronald's most cherished memories were those spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cora Wright Aumick of High Point, North Carolina; two daughters, Patty Aumick of High Point, North Carolina and Cathy (Jonathan) Rigsbee of Colfax, North Carolina; and four grandchildren, Shannon, Erin, Caitlin, and Nathan Rigsbee of Colfax, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by two children, Ronald Frank Aumick, Jr. and Deborah Lynn; three brothers, Vernon, Gerald, and Harold Aumick; and two sisters, Ida Sage and Sharon Johnson.

The family will be present to receive friends on Monday, November 9th from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South, St., Trumansburg. Memorial Services will begin at 1:30pm on Tuesday, November 10th at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Losey officiating.
